Agriculture is constantly changing. The tools of yesterday have evolved into the technology of today. The Purple Plow Challenge brand was created to encompass both the history and future of agriculture; the plow symbolizes the history of production agriculture, while purple represents the innovative and exciting ways that agriculture is working to solve challenges today.
Who We Are
Purple Plow is a special project brought to you by the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture (AFBFA). The resources are made possible through the generous support of Corteva Agriscience. The information on this site and in these resources is presented solely for educational purposes. We believe that when teachers and students understand the science and technology involved in food and fiber production:
learning can be more interesting and engaging
more young people may be interested in related STEM careers
more people will be informed about one of the most important industries for a sustainable society
If you have questions about Purple Plow resources, AFBFA or Corteva Agriscience, please feel free to contact us at [email protected].
Nearly 140 college scholarships administered by the North Carolina Community Foundation are now open for applications! This represents nearly $1.8 million in available scholarship funds.
NCCF partners with donors to administer scholarships for the benefit of students in every county in the state.
The Universal Scholarships Application matches information about the student – such as county of residence, GPA or intended major – with criteria for approximately 130 scholarships. Students are then alerted to all scholarships for which they may be eligible.
About a dozen other NCCF scholarships have separate applications with different due dates. Students should review the criteria for those and follow the instructions on how to apply.
